Currency Converter

Convert any amount between world currencies using reference rates refreshed from the open.er-api feed (sourced from the European Central Bank and other providers). Pick your currencies, type an amount, and get the conversion instantly.

What this means

An exchange rate tells you how much one currency is worth in another. Reference rates are set from central-bank and market feeds and are widely used for fair market conversions.

How we calculate it

Formula

Amount × (base rate ÷ quote rate). Rates come from the open.er-api reference feed.

Worked example

Convert $100 to euros.

  1. 1Pick USD as the source currency.
  2. 2Pick EUR as the target.
  3. 3Enter 100 and read the result.

Important assumptions

  • Rates are reference rates refreshed regularly, not live market ticks or your bank's buy/sell spread.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the rates come from?

From the open.er-api reference feed, which aggregates European Central Bank and other market sources for 160+ currencies.

Are these the same rates banks give?

Banks add a spread, so your final rate will differ slightly. These are fair mid-market reference rates.
